Many of The Banshees of Inisherin’s cast members attended the Oscars last night, though one made an unexpected stage appearance — or at least, that’s what we were encouraged to believe they did.
During the ceremony, host Jimmy Kimmel welcomed Jenny, the faithful friend of Colin Farrell’s Banshees character Pádraic, as he led a donkey into the auditorium, who we spy is wearing no other than Cavallo CLB (Cute Little Boots) hoof boots!
As he introduced Jenny to the audience, Kimmel stated, “This is Jenny, she’s one of the stars of ‘Banshees of Inisherin,'” adding, “Jenny, I want you to see there’s your friend Colin right there.”
Yet it turns out that yesterday night’s stage donkey wasn’t the real Jenny who starred in the film as she has now retired.
The Banshees of Inisherin received nine nominations at this year’s Oscars, though unfortunately did not come out on top in any category.
